Rowens First Swim Lessons

I put Rowen in swim lessons this summer! He loved them. It was only a 2 week class and they go every 2 weeks all summer long so I am thinking about doing another class after we get back from our 4th of July vacation. He was so good in the water (besides him clinging to me the first couple of minutes we got in). He's a pro already!

That is not my behind you see. It's Rowens teacher.

Scott's Birthday (Also in March). Our little trip to Tombstone

For Scott's birthday I decided to surprise him with a little road trip to Tombstone and Bisbee. He had been wanting to go there for a while and one weekend before his birthday we had planned to go but Rowen got sick so we postponed it. I can honestly say (and Scott agree's with me) that I will probably never go back to Tombstone again. I was really disappointed with it. We did, however, really enjoy Bisbee. We didn't get to stay too long because Rowen was tired and throwing several fits but we found this amazing little chocolate shop with some yummy truffles. One of these days we will have to go back and see the rest of the town.

This is at my parents house. We had a birthday dinner for Scott and my brother in law Dayne. Their birthdays are a day apart.

We had to get a picture with this guy in Tombstone!

Rowen trying on cowboy hats and eating sugar on a stick! Yum!

New York Trip (in March)

Now that girls camp is over I finally have a life! I just needed a week or two to recoup. Hopefully I can keep my blog updated regularly! I just wanted to share our pictures from out trip to New York. We had a blast. We did the typical touristy things.... Statue of Liberty, Central Park, museums galore, ground zero, and ate lots and lots of food!!

Our serendipitous dessert from Serendipity!!

View of the city from Libert Island

This was one of the most amazing meals I've ever had. Italian food from Tony's di Napoli was probably about 5000 calories but sooooo good. (All this food was not just for Scott and I, there were 8 of us there).

All the nerdy architects had to stop at another firm in New York to visit. :)

Can you tell where we were? Hint.... Night at the museum!

Finally! A new Blog Post. Just what I know you have all been waiting for ;)

I know I am horrible about posting and I say that in every post. But we have seriously been so crazy busy! I have tons of updates and pictures to post but I will do that later. Right now I will bring you all up to speed as to what has been going on in our lives lately. As soon as we moved into our new ward they called me to be the Ward Camp Director for girls camp. So January 1st they already had tons of assignments to keep me busy. Then, at the end of January, they also called me to be the 1st counselor in the Young Womens and decided that they weren't going to release me as camp director and so now I get to do both. Yay! Both jobs keep me VERY busy. Then, at the beginning of January, Scott was offered a job at an architecture firm! He gets the priviledge of helping design the Gilbert, AZ temple. He loves it so much! But, it has been so time comsuming and there have been times where I haven't see him for 2-3 days and he would spend his nights at the office. He was also called to be the sunday school president, so that means lots of sunday meetings for him, and he is still working on his MBA. On top of new callings, I have still been working 3 days a week at the salon and some of my days off from home and then being a mommy, maid and chef, and doing most it it by myself, have kept me going nonstop since the begginning of the year. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining about anything. I truly am so grateful for everything that has happened in our lives. Heavenly Father has blessed us so much recently I can't even express how grateful I am to Him. We love our new ward, house and neighborhood, callings, and especially Scotts new job! I have so much to share about what has been going on in our lives lately, so stay tuned for new posts soon!

Our Holly Jolly Christmas

This was Rowens second Christmas. He was still just as uninterested in opening gifts as the first year :) but he did like the toys this year. He got a trike this year which he loves! When we went to the store to get it, we made the mistake of letting him get on the display model so when it was time to go he screamed through the entire store because he wanted to take it with him. Although he didn't care about opening the gifts he wanted to get on it and he sat and played in there for at least a half an hour just playing with the little cell phone that came with it. It was well worth the buy. Santa brought him lots more presents to because he has been such a good boy this year. We really enjoyed being able to spend the Holidays with our families and remember the birth of our Savior! It was a great Christmas!

Rowen on his new Trike!

Opening his gifts. Daddy stuck the bow onhis forehead. He was not too amused!

Scott ended up opening all of Rowens gifts for him because he simply did not care nor did he know what the heck was going on.

My little monkey. I found the cutest Monkey Santa pajamas this year at Old Navy that suited Rowen just perfectly. My sister got him this cute little monkey beanie that came with a monkey onesie! So cute!

Rowen's First Birthday

Yay! My baby turned 1! I can't believe it went by so quickly. He is growing up way too fast and it makes me so sad. Can't they just stay little forever? We had a little birthday party for him the saturday before his birthday. It turned out great (although it stressed me out a little). But there were lots of friends and family there to help celebrate. Also we went to Rowen's 1 year check up the other day. This kid grows like a weed! 27 lbs and almost 33 inches tall! 95th percentile for both!

People who came to Rowen's birthday party:

Our friend Sabina and her kids Taya and Boston (don't know where her husbund was in this picture)

Our friends Ami and Antonio and their little boy Ande.

My friend Jamie and her little boy Julian!

Most of my family (some are missing in this photo)

Scotts parents and sister Holly

Pictures from the party!
Family photo

His monkey cake. Scott made it, can you believe it? He did it all on his own and did a pretty darn good job!

Getting ready to blow out the candles
Yum! He loved that cake. He love it so much he picked the whole thing up and gave it a kiss. Then it slid down into his lap (well most of it)
Eating more cake
Turned out pretty good! I thought it did anyway

The night of Rowen's actual birthday we took him to "As You Wish" and made a little monkey picture frame with his handprint. Daddy did most of the painting since he is the artist in the house. It turned out really cute. Afterward we went and got ice cream!
Finshed!

There was no one around to take a photo of all of us together so we had to take one separate with each of us.

Got a family picture at the end of the night when we got home though!

We Moved! Job changes and new ward!

It seems like our lives have changed so much in just the last month! For those of you who dont know we got rid of our house in down town Mesa and moved to east Mesa. We love our area. Scott and I were actually very apprehensive about where we had decided to move but we have enjoyed every minute of it. We love our new ward. It's full of lots younger couples our age who have kids and everyone is so friendly and accepting. Also, Scott got a new job working at Chase bank, which he seems to be enjoying for the most part right now. He is still very eager to be working in architecture but since things have slowed to in that field it's Chase for now. He also started working on his MBA at University of Phoenix and is 3 classes in right now. 9 more to go! I told him I think he would be happy as a professional student for the rest of his life if it paid! And last, our sweet little Row Row turned one just before Thanksgiving (I'll post from his bday party in another post).

We have been so blessed lately and have been enjoying the new changes that have been made in our lives recently. What a wonderful way to start the Christmas season!
